It’s about physical, mental, and social well-being

The issues are not just in the tissues – at Real-ease Massage Therapy & Treatments we uphold the World Health Organisation definition of health as “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”

Our goal is always to improve the overall quality of life of our clients, and we undertake continuous professional development so you can be assured of the highest standards of care. We are registered with the largest professional association for complementary therapists, the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT), which ensures our standards of practice and training.

Fix in six

We take a ‘fix in six’ approach to achieving a reduction in your symptoms or pain caused by musculoskeletal issues. Depending on the severity of your problem and how long you have lived with it, we would expect to see you once a week for up to six weeks, before moving you onto a maintenance care routine.

Whether you’re struggling with a bad back, dodgy knee, regular headaches, a clicky shoulder or a stiff neck, we will get to the root cause of the problem and provide a treatment plan that is tailored to you using our toolbox of treatments.

Online assessment and self-care sessions are also available for those clients unable to travel to our clinic in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire.

Acupuncture involves fine needles being inserted into the skin to stimulate specific points. It has been used in China for more than 3,000 years, and within the NHS it is used to treat chronic (long-term) pain, tension headaches and migraines. It can also be used to treat conditions including joint pain, irritable bowel syndrome and vertigo/dizziness. Illness and injury (mental and physical) occur when our flow of Qi (life energy) is blocked. Acupuncture aims to restore Qi meaning it can have emotional as well as physical benefits.

Reflexology is a relaxing treatment carried out on the feet dating back to ancient Egypt. It has been used to help combat insomnia, arthritis pain, menstrual and digestive issues, and anxiety, because it is a holistic (whole body) treatment. Our feet have tiny reflex points which are mirror images of our entire body’s internal organs and structures. These are linked via the nervous system, and when these reflex points are stimulated using specific massage techniques, blockages and imbalances are released encouraging the body to heal.

KORE (Kinaesthetic Optimum Recovery Enhancement) therapy provides a complete holistic (whole body) treatment plan through a mix of traditional Chinese medicine and Western techniques to treat the root cause of your issue, not just your symptoms. KORE looks at why you have symptoms and recognises that skin issues can be linked to digestive issues, knee pain can stem from pelvic imbalances, and lower back pain can be linked to a neck restriction. Treatment techniques include muscle testing, fire cupping, stomach massage (Amno Fu) and many more.

A Rossiter structural release workout takes place with you on the mat fully clothed and you are in charge of how hard you work. You will be taken through a series of assisted stretch techniques which work to release your connective tissue, so the body’s structures are no longer squeezed, bulged, or trapped. These powerful movements can improve your mobility, flexibility, and provide sometimes instant relief from lower back pain, jaw pain, foot and ankle pain, golfer’s or tennis elbow, knee pain or hip pain.
